I experimented with these jellyfish images in a few different ways using both traditional and digital media. There are two finals.  One is an acrylic painting and the other a digitally rendered image.
The first part of my traditional acrylic process was experimenting with creating texture.  I did two practice samples and one final image. For each painting, I first transfered the drawing onto the canvas.  Then I began creating texture with paper, paint, brush strokes, and sponges. The next step, which was creating an underpainting was opitional. I choose to use it on all three of my images.
My digital process icluded exploration with coloring, textures, and line.  After I had a good idea of where I was headed, I scanned in an inked version of the original sketch with clean linework to use as the foundation of my final image.
I was very happy with the way my final digital artwork came out.  It was even featured on SCAD's online portfolio gallery. :)
