This project entails the brand establishment of a crafty coffee shop based in Potchefstroom, South Africa. The client had chosen the name long before, which made the process simpler. The look of the brand was motivated by both the steampunk era and the victorian style, which in turn suited the building of the establishment.

Deliverables were designed to harmonise with the logo such as the coasters, the light bbox and the menu - in colour, shape and sizes. As complimentary as everything may seam, a pinch of South African spice was added to the feel. For one, the coasters embody local slang which contribute to the name"pavement special" but is contradictory in language (Afrikaans), the leading and kerning (compared to the logo) and in style.

As basic, strict and formal this brand may come across, bits of quirky nuggets are found when delving deeper in to the project.
