During my usability testing sessions, I realized that participants always compare the interactive prototypes with real final products.

They check every element of our design in order to find out if it works or not (even they are not asked).

One of the most useful things that we should keep in mind during crafting prototypes is adding as much detail as possible and also giving a sense of life to them. ( Disclaimer: If project constraints let us). 

Figma is one of the craziest tools in prototyping which lets you bring your prototypes to the life so I took advantage of this amazing tool and made my website mockups interactive, especially with hover effects.
