Learning to Surface: A Car Based on the 1974 Hyundai Pony Coupe Concept

I immediately thought why Hyundai never produced this thing when I first found this car, because this could have been their "iconic" car (which they do say on their website but it is only a concept). I guess they weren't there yet as the 1974 Pony was their first car.

Some sensors in the B pillar?

Surfacing the rear side window panels were very difficult...

I guess excluding the B pillar, everything up top is too thin, now that I see it done...

actual headlamps are the ones with lenses on the bottom. The top would be daylight running lights?

Heatsink inspired design. I took it a bit too literally, but I was dissatisfied by other designers that made some rather insignificantly sized fins and calling it heatsink inspired.

Not only heatsink inspired but also custom loop (hard pipe) liquid cooling inspired too.

Yes it does not look finished, because I took too long at this point and thought I'd let it be...

I did not like how the asphalt has that repeating pattern effect happening.

I did this because I wanted to learn how to do "surfacing" and I liked the design of this car.

I discovered this car because Hyundai showed their concept 45 SUV and were saying they based that car on the 1974 Pony Coupe Concept. But honestly, if you look at that car, it is not based on the coupe but their actual production car. Which the 1974 Pony looks very different compared to the coupe concept. They are releasing it as Ioniq 5.
