Trend Analysis 2011- Delhi

New shapes have made its way into the street fashion of Delhi among the fashion conscious. Experimentation with shapes and forms can be seen on many. The exaggeration in silhouettes seen, worn usual in as an outerwear or added details in a specific garment are noted. Exaggeration such as extended shoulders, shoulder baring or cut outs cocoon shaping and lose knits flowing around the body altering its original shape in one way or the other.
These silhouettes add a bit of glamour and power appeal to the garment. Most of the silhouettes give the feeling of a warrior with protective shoulder pads as also seen in the sports costume of baseball. The flowing silhouettes give off a sloppy and cocooning feel to the silhouette.
The plethora of color present in the in the Indian culture makes it possible for different color to enter the Indian market. Neon is one of those palettes that has a rage in the streets. The vibrant colors with things like the blinking signage advertising the local bar or fast food spot has been incorporated into clothing. But as neon "throw-back" clothes are back, and just as neon's having a fashion revival on the street.

Neutrals and nudes have a made a come back. Grays and beige neutrals combined amount to a monochromatic color palette – but more on that in a moment. While seemingly subtle differences seem to separate Naturally Neutral from Shades of Gray paint colors, the two palettes work very differently in application. There has been use of neutrals with bright. Like striking blues, shocking reds, deep purples, a hottest trend for this summer has been that of orange, definitely a bold and eye-catching color. Pairing Bright Orange and Purple is a current favorite among the fashion forward trying the color blocking.
The major trends in the prints are print on print, fine and bold stripes, tapestry feeling in woven looking dense design in floral and ornamentals. Larger than life blooming flowers have caught attention of the masses. Pre war prints of tossed floral of 30s and 40s. Opposite shades of contrasting colors to create optical vibrations.
