In this project I worked as part of a multidisciplinary team who were tasked with creating a GPS guided robot that would be used for analysing and treating patches of damaged grass on a golf course.

My team specifically worked upon the spray arm of the robot. This arm operates with two degrees of freedom of motion. Vertically, by use of a hydraulic arm and three bar linkage mechanism. And horizontally which was powered by a rotational gear system (This system was developed by another team which is why it's not shown.)
A range of robustness and design for plastics considerations were taken into account when designing the arm.

Strengthening ribs were added to avoid warping within the large plastic components.
