Objective: Create a stand-alone subscription service brand and product, improve the functionality of the packaging, identify the target audience, and create a campaign to market the product.

Solution: I was given organic kids snacks to which I found a very unique niche. I created the brand Denali, makers of organic energy bars. The energy bars are geared towards 12-16 year olds who go hiking/backpacking/camping. Parents would be purchasing the subscription box, so they too are an important audience.

The energy bars are made with all natural organic ingredients with 100% biodegradable packaging. The brand initially has 6 different flavored bars for the family to choose from, all with key nutrients the target age group  needs to grow (fruits, grains, protein, iron, calcium, and potassium).
The packaging contains no wasted space so it’s easy to pack on the go. Each flavor also has its own packaging color to be easily distinguishable. The wrapper is 100% recycled fiber paper coated with a grease and water resistance substance approved by the FDA. The subscription boxes are made out of paperboard certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC).

Denali is a member of the Sustainable Packaging Coalition (SPC), a network of businesses dedicated to the sustainable use of packaging materials in society. Denali also partners with TerraCycle on an industry-wide energy bar wrapper recycling program aimed at keeping wrappers off of the hiking trails and out of landfills.
