Hand Tools for the Relief Effort in Haiti
These hand tools were created to help with the relief effort in Haiti after the earthquake ravaged the small country.  The tools follow the JCB brand design language.  The building materials required tools that could demolish stucco, cinderblock, and brick along with metal re-bar.  The three tools chosen were a pick axe, hack saw, and shovel.  The handles were spun on the wood lathe, the pick axe head was made out of high density foam along with the hack saw, the raised areas were overmolded with vacuum forming plastic, the shovel head was made of metal and high density foam.  This was a collaborative effort.
