BAMBOO CUTLERY | 2019
A bamboo can take many forms and here it is carved into cutlery .Bamboo cutlery is long-lasting, and much more durable than wooden and plastic ones. Bamboo is heat, stain, and water-resistant material. Bamboo products do not absorb odors and they are very easy to clean. This exploration of bamboo as a material is done as a self project so as to get a hands on experience of various basic tools.
First one is a small piece of bamboo which is carved into a stylish rice scooper with a user friendly handle along with a hole to hang it in the kitchen. It is light in weight and easy to clean.
Second one is carved into a soup, curry dipper (ladle) with a long handle for deep utensils. It is quite handy and has a natural feel to it, thus inspiring people to use bamboo more often.
BAMBOO EXPLORATIONS
In order to explore more of bamboo as a material ,a boom box is made out of a left over bamboo piece with a cavity for cell phones so that the user can experience music in a much better way in terms of sound quality and clarity. It is raw, portable and light in weight which makes it desirable.
