I saw a lone whitetail buck while I was walking one early morning. I was inspired, I was in awe, and I was scared bleepless. I was also alone. I quickly walked on.
Deer are so numerous where I live that they have become a nature sideshow. I see them walk across the yard and when I'm driving. But not on foot and on my own. One forgets how majestic and truly dangerous they are.
