Typography Glossary

The objective was to create a detailed glossary of 64 typography terms with provided text and images using InDesign's powerful multi-page document tools. I had to do my work into a digital PDF that's created by me using the future digitally or send to print.
My professor introduces us to typographic lockups and visual weight. The images above are a perfect example of what a lockup is supposed to look like. The lockups will aid in everything from logo design, aspects of a user interface, and powerful headline visuals – anything where a set of shapes (including letterforms) need to form a grouped unit.

These were my examples of representing lockups in Workshop 1.
My professor introduces us to page layout and handling typography pages, including leading and alignment, visual hierarchy, introduction to grid theory, and design consistency.

Here are some examples of representing visual hierarchy, intro to grid theory, leading and alignment, and design consistency. I have received good comments on all my samples, and I went with "Just My Type" on the far left.
From the examples you see above, I had to explore typeface pairings, including reinforced knowledge of how a typeface and its spacing encourage attention and ease of reading.
I had to exercise to test my knowledge of what I have learned so far in this project. This exercise was to explain the visual hierarchy and grid theory. I have received positive comments about my coffee menu and inspire others to do something like this.
This work is the final look of what I have chosen to do my Typography Glossary. I love the colors I have chosen, and I am happy with the results. I love how I put more leading on the definition and color in the typeface on the right side.
