As a personal design exercise, I wanted to make a card deck featuring Pantone colors of the year. I ended up being able to create 4 aces, 4 kings, and the card back. It was an interesting adventure to study the way that Pantone designs their lifestyle items and using that as a springboard to create something far more illustration-focused than they usually sell.

I decided approach the face card illustration in a low-poly style to evoke the feeling that these cards could be conceivably made out of cut-up swatches.

On the side of the box, I placed a square of Classic Blue, Pantone's Color of the Year 2020 and used the suits in place of where Pantone usually puts the year over the swatch.
