We were given a set of three lyrics that each induced love, but they also covered various other emotions. We were assigned to portray those other aspects of love in several ways. One was with the word "love" and one was via an illustration.
The "love" word had to remain in one of a selected list of fonts, we were not allowed to mess with the letters except cutting them or filling them. This piece hopes to inspire slight pain.
Improved Love word. The L wasn't clear, and my instructor hated the venus flytrap, so I used the entire straight razor on the L and used a black widow on the V. The image is much stronger here.
Our illustration had to contain 3 of our own photographs, 3 illustrated elements drawn from a photograph, and a hand. This piece is about loneliness associated with love.
I changed around the colors and played with a few of the elements before finally deciding on this improvement for the piece.
