NFL announces Brown-Giants will replace Cowboys-49ers

NFL announces Brown-Giants will replace Cowboys-49ers for sunday night football
Here’s a sentence I never thought I would type: the NFL wants nothing to do with the Dallas Cowboys in primetime in a week and a half, and would prefer the Cleveland Browns.

Per the league, the Browns-Giants game in Week 15 will now take place in primetime on Sunday Night Football. That’s right: the NFL actually moved a game between the 49ers and Cowboys, a marquee matchup for anyone that grew up in the ’90s, out of primetime for the Cleveland Browns.

The 49ers-Cowboys game will now air at 1 PM ET on CBS. The league has also shifted Week 15’s Jets-Rams game to the 4 PM ET window on Fox.

This will actually be Cleveland’s second straight primetime game. In Week 14, the Browns will host the Ravens on ESPN’s Monday Night Football. 먹튀사이트

The Cowboys and Niners are longtime rivals, and games between them usually have no trouble grabbing viewers. Both teams have dealt with injuries to star players this season, and the quality of their play has taken a nosedive. They are last in their divisions and have been without their star quarterbacks — Dak Prescott and Jimmy Garoppolo — since early in the season, and that’s just the start of their lengthy injury lists.

While it’s unexpected for the Cowboys to be booted out of a prime-time spot, it’s a sign of the times. There’s no universe in which the Andy Dalton-led Cowboys deserve a prime-time spot over the Browns, who are 9-3 and sporting their best record since 2007. And while the Giants may have the same record as the Niners, they’re at least at the top of their division. It’s the NFC East so that’s not saying much, but it’s still better than the Niners.
