The Solomon Project

This will be the cherub design found in the Holy of Holies in Solomon's temple once the project is completed. There were two larger guardian cherubs that stood to either side of the ark of the covenant, standing fifteen feet tall, with their wings being fifteen feet from tip to tip. Since I wanted a little more of a realistic design, I ended up making the overall width from wing to wing being fifteen feet. This allowed me to extend the wings back for a more proportionate appearance.
The Ark of the Covenant will be updated once it is completed, but this is close to the final form it will take. Originally, it was supposed to represent the idea of a war chariot and had a cherub standing to either side of the mercy seat (aka, the middle of the lid, which acted as a seat).
Unlike popular illustrations, I chose to be consistent in my design and carry the winged sphinx over from the larger statues into this project as well. I find it interesting how almost everyone depicts the larger cherub statues as sphinxes while almost everyone depicts the cherubs on the ark of the covenant as winged people.
I learned a lot about lion anatomy for this project :)
Brazen Altar
I tried 3 different approaches for the altar. While most go with option 1 on the left, I really like option 3 on the right.
I thought it showed off the form a lot better with a golden texture, so I've included it for that purpose.
And here is the bronze version.
Molten Sea
And here's all the bulls together, holding up the Molten Sea with a person for scale.
This was just for fun, imagining what it would look like in a modern context if it were built today.
The Menorah
I will potentially be redoing this one in the future, but it works for now
The wick trimmer and pan to maintain the Menorah candles
Temple
This has a lot to be desired and still has a lot of work ahead of it. This is just an initial shot to see some of the items in their place.
