Hours later, families will rush to go shopping early for Black Friday to consume goods to start Christmas shopping. The found objects are all disposable to reiterate how easy consumable Thanksgiving is to Black Friday. The glass plates display advertisement language and visual typography used on Black Friday. This piece brings insight on how our American tradition of Thanksgiving has changed to become about consumption on Black Friday. The idea that shopping and the need to consume comes foremost to Thanksgiving.
