Easter Egg 2 - Huevo de Pascua 2

▲ About these lines: The new packaging of Rapanui's Easter eggs
▼ Under these lines: Year 1955 wrapping Easter eggs in Cadbury.
How to present a traditional product in a new way?
How to protect a delicate object without hiding it?
How to pack and distribute a spherical object in an efficient, practical and safe way?
In 2017, the @chocolates_rapanui factory requested a redesign of the classic Easter egg presentation, raising not only these concerns but also needs that resulted in solutions that are not evident to the customer, such as reducing the loss of goods due to breakage, assembly times, packaging volume and increasing space for graphics.
This is another part of that work, the one that corresponds to the eggs of 250, 200, 120 and 80 gr.
For these products a simpler and more economical packaging was chosen, but one that meets all the requirements.
Both presentations, although they present different solutions, correspond to the same work. For this reason they started at the same table and the measurement process was the same.
This idea arose from the intersection between a triangular prism and the ovoid shape. This ovoid shape can be seen through windows in the prism leaving a space where the chocolate makers have space to make their art.
This geometric shape is composed simply by a strip of cardboard that is wrapped around itself and contains the egg.
The whole set is held by a pair of elastic bands that were made with special measures and white color.
The inside of the prism was used to place nutritional and other technical or legal information. Finding the balance of sizes between the egg and the prism was fundamental to finding a useful space for these texts, a good dimension of the windows through which the egg appears and the resistance of the whole structure.
As you can see in the following image, it is not necessary to open the packaging to read this information.
About these lines Diego Fenoglio, master chocolatier and founder of Chocolates Rapanui trying the assembly of the packaging,
To complement the protection of the merchandise, I resized the boxes for transfer to the premises by product, placing separators and reorganizing the pallets by weight and by location. This reduced the loss by breakage by 90%.
