Shyla is an interactive oragami sculpture that reacts to the presence of people. Like her name implies, Shyla is very shy. When she notices that somebody has come close, her heart rate speeds up. Only once she's happily back in solitude, does her heart rate settle back down to its normal pace.
MATERIALS: Origami Paper, External Battery, Arduino Kit, Red LEDs, Tape, Wires, Exacto Knife and an Infrared Sensor

The heart pulses are represented by a red LED. This LED blinks on and off at a regular rate until somebody approaches the sculpture, in which the LED will then begin blinking rapidly, representing a fast heart beat.
