STOP TRUMP is a coalition of organisations and individuals that have come together to protest against Donald Trump’s planned state visit to the UK.

The protest group were opposed to Trump's visit and wanted to build up support to protest his visit and stop him coming altogether to the UK. For this they need a new logo and designs for flyers, stickers and banners to carry around.

#01 Flyer 01 - Let's grab HIM by the pussy

For this project I wanted to play around with infamous quotes said by Donald Trump and find a way to flipped them against him in a playful manner between text and visual representation of such. In the first flyer I decided to use to quote "Grab her by the pussy!" and changed it to a direct attack at Trump instead with an imperative affirmation of "Let's grab HIM by the pussy" calling for action as a collective. By adding an illustration of Donald Trump surrounded by kittens (also called pussies) I found a way to tone down the offensiveness carried in the word pussy when used by Trump and changed it to something comical that STOP TRUMP supporters could relate and embrace.

#02 Flyer 01 - Let's grab Him by the pussy

I originally intended to design three different flyers using the English flag colours: white, red and blue, which ironically also match the colours of the United States of America flag. However, after the first drafts for each component, I realized that using a withe back- ground created a feeling of emptiness in the rest of the composition.

#03 Flyer 02 - Let's build a great, great wall to keep him out

For the second flyer, I wanted to maintain the same playfulness between infamous quotes by Donald Trump with a twist of British humor. So I decided to choose the famous quote "I will build a great, great wall on our southern border. And I will have Mexico pay for that wall." and changed it around to "Let's build a great, great wall to keep him out". This time instead of illustrating kittens, I created a composition with Donal Trump behind an improvised barbed wire wall protected by soldiers from the queen's guard, once again achieving an interesting mixture between the two cultures and the colliding ideologies between the STOP TRUMP coalition and Trump himself.

The project aim was to spray awareness all over London towards the upcoming visit of Trump to the Uk, as mentioned above, as well as attract as many people as possible to march against this unwanted visit.
