Muharraq, recognised as the UNESCO Creative City of Design in 2019, is a pioneer city where the combination of history, art and architecture has served as the primary inspiration in revamping urban life. With its unique Arabic character combined with international standards of modernity, Muharraq plays a very special role within the Gulf Region. The city presents many opportunities for creativity throughout various types of public events; all of which serve to reskill Bahrainis, build cultural confidence and create synergies on an international level. Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities has launched a call for designers to create a logo to be used for all the upcoming events of this designation.

Concept
Inspired by the architectural history of Muharraq and the well known shape of openings in it's iconic buildings.
The design was created based on the concept of Muharraq being the gate to creativity. While combining the history of the city through a simplified shape of the houses doors with bold lines to highlight steps that the city is taking towards modernity.
