Will County Public Safety Complex

Will County Public Safety Complex
Joliet, Illinois

Design Achievement
The Will County Public Safety Complex has successfully consolidated six separate facilities of the Will County Sheriff Department into a unified and centralized 87,000-square-foot complex. This development greatly enhances the accessibility and services available to the residents of Will County, while simultaneously improving communication and boosting morale among public safety officers and staff. The design solution incorporates a distinct and secure entrance, as well as isolated operational areas for the ETSB, effectively separating it from both the Sheriff's headquarters and the 911 Center to ensure efficient functionality.

Scope Summary
The newly constructed Will County Public Safety Complex has been meticulously designed to accommodate a total of 474 sworn officers and 128 civilian personnel. The facility features a range of essential amenities, including shared training and meeting rooms for both staff and the public, lockup and holding areas, spacious evidence storage, and dedicated offices for investigators, patrol officers, and administrative personnel. In addition, the interior design incorporates a series of captivating experiential wall graphics that aim to instill a sense of pride and motivation among the staff members. Furthermore, a comprehensive wayfinding and signage package has been developed to enhance navigation throughout the complex. DLR Group played a crucial role in providing architecture, interior design, and experiential graphic design services for this project.
