Interactive Integrated Media Campaign - SXSW 2021

South by Southwest is an annual conglomeration of parallel film, interactive media, and music festivals and conferences organised jointly that take place in mid-March in Austin, Texas, United States. It began in 1987 and has continued to grow in both scope and size every year. We have been briefed by the client to come up with a unique concept for the South by Southwest 2021 in Texas. We had to entice the creative audience from around the world to 
attend the conference. 


The Innovation Oasis

I have chosen to base the concept for this project on a desert oasis. The definition of an oasis is: “a fertile spot in a desert, where water is found”. The location of an oasis has been of critical importance for trade and transportation routes in desert areas; caravans traveled via an oasis so that supplies of water and food can be replenished. An oasis was the main place to trade in the desert and they mainly traded ideas. 

Thus, my concept for the “innovation oasis” invites the viewer to “join the creative trade”.

I want to create a space where creatives and innovators can flourish and get really inspired and at the same time network and trade ideas with other creatives. Most of the deliverables is inspired by the action of trade and things that are used during trade now and many years ago. This concept will work for my target market as for the visitors from across the world will be inspired to trade ideas with others to create new innovations.
