For this brief we collaborated with Darling Brew, a proudly South African brewery that specialises in making slow beer. We were once again told to push past the stereotypical ways of representing beer in advertising. As well as trying to expand the types of people who would be attracted to products. We were tasked to create a look book, Instagram page and six Gifs, that heroes two of Darling Brews products, one alcoholic product, Just Lager, and one of their nonalcoholic beverages, Navigator, which is a spritzer. The images that I produced were based around the concept of an escape. With the world increasingly looking for products that connect with them and in society, it’s time for Darling Brew, in its own way, to showcase how their products provide an escape from the Covid-19 society we currently find ourselves in. The body of work that I wanted to produce would be a visual representation of the concept an Escape. The idea was to create a collection of photos that showcased the ways in which Darling Brews beverages allow for for an escape from the Covid-19 reality we are currently living in. The individuals are set free from the four walls of their every day environment by simply taking a sip from Darlings beverage and are transported into the South African wilderness. Bringing the inside to the outdoors. The idea was to create images that looked dreamlike and flowed cohesively over a multitude of platforms. These platforms included a look book, a instagram page and 6 animated GIFS.
