I did a self fictional project to help me do something that i love. This is a project to explore digital illustration and graphic design. Along the way of exploring, i found a theme that i like which is hiking in the sunset hike, hence the title is Sunset Hike.
My first piece here. I'm inspired by Marko Stupic's illustration project that i think really cool. I try to use the same technique with different mood and concept.
Sunset Hike is a fictional project from a movie director named Khoen Wirajuda. I try implement the illustration into a movie poster. I also do change the color mode to CMYK to preview how the color change when printed.
This is the second illustration i made. This piece is inspired moving illustration by Mansoor. I try to explore more using consistent color pallet and mood. I added some mountain and trees, also some bird there. I try to preserve the illustration using the same theme and character.
The movie Sunset Hike became popular and there was a game company making an adaptation with the same title. I try to implement the illustration into a game main menu UI by adding game tittle text and menu selection also a cursor. Here i rearrange the layout a little bit to suit the purpose of the illustration as a main menu screen.
Here is my third illustration. I try to implement simple shapes for the trees and also using reflection. This piece is inspired by Justina Lei. In this illustration i try to capture continuation of the story from illustration before.
"Sunset hike EP" is an album containing original soundtrack used in the movie and games. I implement my third illustration as a album cover and CD art. I change the layout to match the aspect ratio for album cover and CD, because the original illustration i made is sparse spaced. I try to make all the illustration component fit into the ratio and make the scene. For the CD, i try to use the hole as the sun and i think it is nice.
