Treasure Valley Family YMCA

The YMCA has very strict brand standards that allow for only one font (three weights), a very limited color palette, and over 60 pages of various other rules. It's an interesting box to work in!
Promo poster for the YMCA's Famous Idaho Potato Marathon. Sack design based on a picture of an actual old sack from the 1950's I found on the potato commission's website. Potato sack is 100% original, integrated with stock photo background. Adobe Photoshop.
Magazine ad for the YMCA's 2013/2014 Fun Run Series. Adobe Illustrator. Stock runner outlines used to save time as I only had about 4 hours from the time I found out about this project until the ad deadline.
T-shirt design for the YMCA's Harrison Classic Kids' Race. Adobe Illustrator.
5.5"x8.5" joint flyer for the Harrison Classic Kids' Race and Hidden Springs Youth Triathlon. Adobe Illustrator.
11"x17" poster for the YMCA's Spudman Triathlon. Adobe Illustrator.
Multi-format design for the YMCA's Fall Triathlon Series. 17x11 poster, 4.25"x5.5" flyer, 4.25"x11" mailer. Pictures in Photoshop, everything else in Illustrator.
T-shirt design for the YMCA's Camel's Back Duathlon. Adobe Illustrator. Camel's Back is the name of the mountain where this event takes place.
T-shirt design for the YMCA's St. Paddy's Day Run. Adobe Illustrator.
T-shirt design for the YMCA's Off Road Sprint Triathlon. Adobe Illustrator.
T-shirt design for the YMCA Track and Field Invitational. Adobe Illustrator.
Logo design for the new northwest region Team Idaho Classic track and field invitational. Illustrator.
Concept and design for a 9'x9' awards area banner configuration
The end result in action!
5.5"x8.5" bifold check-out card for parents as their kids finish camp. Photos in Photoshop, layout in InDesign.
Just a few of the assets produced for a 100 page spiral bound document handed out to students at the YMCA's Youth Government program that runs for two days per year at our state capitol building. These were all made in Photoshop with a conglomeration of stuff I found on Google images (sorry if it's yours and you didn't get credit), most have between 10-15 layers to achieve the desired effect.
(1/4) Front Cover
(2/4) Judicial Section
(3/4) Legislative Section
(4/4) Reference Section
Three new t-shirt designs for Y Camp: Horsethief Reservior, all done in Illustrator.
(1/3) Most kids can see the fire, most parents can't. Icons represent the activities at camp. This is the front with an oversize fire outline at the lower hem and the Y logo screened on the back.
(2/3) This year's camp had a Hunger Games theme so this was super popular. This is the back with an oversize fire outline at the lower hem and the Y logo screened on the front.
(3/3) This is the front with an oversize fire outline at the lower hem and the Y logo screened on the back.
Several pages from the YMCA's Summer Program Guide, which goes out to some 80,000 parents across the Treasure Valley to let them know what programs the Y has running during the summer. I was solely responsible for this project, which was also the first thing I was assigned to do after starting this job! It took about 3 weeks and was a great introduction to the Y. Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
