The Art of Destruction
The concept of Art Destruction introduces a new approach of painting and a distinctive form of Art, rejecting earlier painting methods, the traditional principles and criticizes the aesthetic values of Art. In which the deconstructive criticism is to fundamentally restructure the opposition, not simply to erase it.
In this project, I am arguing that Art is a form of expression and communication where it does not have to be appealing or beautiful to be considered as 'Art'. In other words, Art should be free of restrictions. Therefore, damaging or decomposing an artwork is a powerful form of expression that needs to be addressed. The significance of Art Destruction is that it shows the two different versions of the same painting simultaneously, however, each communicates and expresses different definitions of Art, the traditional and contemporary; in which contemporary techniques overlap the classical.
