So, here is my latest design project, just something fun and different. Lately I've been much more confident in my illustration work and this is definitely one of my more detailed pieces.
It took me only three days to design and I did find myself trying to perfect it a lot by changing the colours, making the tones match. For example, the shade of blue on the jeans of the 327th Battalion (yellow) had to be complimentary to the yellow of the hoodie and helmet. I also didn't want to make the t-shirt underneath black, it is more a dark brown. The reason for that is to avoid it looking too bland but also it isn't a detailed colour choice and the darker brown shade compliments the yellow, blue and white much better.
So the main goal of this design was entirely just the character design, therefor I didn't really plan on making a background - or at least nothing too detailed and amazing - so it ended up being a basic gradient. Seeing as the characters were the main goal of the design, I decided that if in future, I would like to add a background, such as the Geonosis Arena or Kamino from the Star Wars Prequels, then I shall. I did intend on adding a Venator Star Destroyer in the background but, again, the characters were all I wanted to design.
Overall, I am very happy with this design and it is definitely one of my favourites, and I intend to make more in a similar design.
