Aim: Design a poster that showcases the characters of a specific type or font family. The poster must be designed with that type itself, along with a brief introduction to its history and origin.

Thoughts: Futura, the font type I picked for this project was of particular interest to me. It is rather popular and it changes from modern to old school depending on how it is used. The type is bold and legible and can be read even when text is significantly cluttered. I wanted to show these features in my design. Since the type is made of largely geometrical shapes, and designed in the 1920s, I picked a style that feels stamp-like and tangible. To add some interest, I also added a picture of Paul Renner - the designer of the typeface.
Learning Curve: In researching for this project, I learnt the intricacies of designing the font and all the thought and effort that goes behind it. To design characters that gain popularity world over while at the same time being creative and artistic with it is a truly admirable feat.
