Biography Notes:
1.) He first achieved fame through "SAMO" a graffiti and street art duo ( I got my graffiti on a brick wall idea from this information)
2.) He did most of his work in the late 70's and early 80's where rap, punk, and street art were making its way into New York culture.
3.) He was born and raised in lower eastside Manhattan, New York
4.) Basquiat's art focused on dichotomies such as wealth versus poverty, integration versus segregation, and inner versus outer experience.
5.) Most of his art was political and directed towards anticolonialism
6.) He unfortunately passed away at a young age

Pictures that inspired my poster:

I chose the crown as my focus point since it was the most identifiable characteristic of Jean-Michel Basquiat's artwork. I tried to trace and free hand his drawings but they weren't coming out the way I intended so I went with the crown and graffiti look.
