This was inspired by a friend, who had to return home from college amidst much uncertainty, because of the pandemic. Like most of us, she found herself disoriented, restless, and lost at the time. One of the few things she looked forward to was tending to her houseplants everyday; she watched them grow and eventually take over the space of her entire balcony.
