ie: a cabinets of curiosities

I spent a portion of the last two months working on a collection of scaled-up moth and butterfly sculptures.  Each faux-taxidermy piece is 2.5 times larger than the specimen it is based on.

To set this up, I gathered furniture, plants, and oddities from around my apartment (and displaced quite a bit of furniture in the process)!

This collection is based on specimens from my small entomology collection, as well as specimens that I studied in the Yale Peabody Natural History Entomology collection.

I arranged my "Wunderkrammer" photo based on the RISD Nature Lab and the Yale Peabody Museum, along with other classic examples of curiosity cabinets.
