A social media account was created focusing solely on adventure (with a camping caravan/trailer). Roam Sweet Home, owned by a friend of mine, was born. Being new in the Graphic Design industry I thought this would be a good opportunity to play around with logos for the account.

Roam Sweet Home is owned by a lovely engaged couple who recently bought a camping caravan/trailer together, with the intended purpose of being "at home" in various different camping spots in and around South Africa.

My concept was simple - main idea: Adventure and Nature.
Being a travel blog/account my concept of the word "roam" and the compass needle became synonymous with each other. 'Roam' means to move about or travel aimlessly or unsystematically; one cannot travel without direction, hence the compass. The compass needle is also split into two differing colours, symbolizing the two main people in this adventure, each person is an individual, but they are connected by a shared love for adventure. They have been together since high school and therefor are each others' True North. The compass needle is inside a circle - circles are never ending - a symbol of their undying love for each other and travel. Nature was also incorporated into the design seeing as they'll be living close to nature in their camping spots.

My last design was a play on the letters within the actual word 'Roam'. A favourite quote by Walt Whitman reads as follows: "Keep your face always toward the sunshine and shadows will fall behind you". A true testament of the love Cariece and Devon have for each other. They are each others' sunshine in times of darkness.
