With this piece I elected to stray slightly away from my black and white theme. I started by uploading a basic photo of a lion resting in a field. I then played heavily with the color contrast and balance. I wanted to keep the colors of the night throughout each of my piece, and this one I thought it would look great to add a purple tint to the photo on top of the black and white filter. I ended up reverting to selecting out the lion because it added a sharp contrast and helped establish the lion as the focal point of the piece. I downloaded a moon brush that I would use in all 3 of my pieces and placed that in the piece to help with the night environment. Additionally I elected to add Fireflies with a downloaded brush. Finally, I played around with the contrast levels on the lion until I came out with a piece I was satisfied with.
This piece I like to think I kept very simple. I started with an amazing image of an empty path in the woods that looks over a city. I added a black and white filter to keep with my overall theme. Then, I played with the contrast to make the sky very bright and woods dark. However, after playing with the contrast levels I added a dark fog over the sky using a downloaded brush. This helped create a more night time setting in my opinion. I then proceeded to add children into the piece using a downloaded brush. The children in the piece are playing on their phones. I used the rectangular marquee tool to create the phones and paint bucket to fill. To create the screen light from the phones I used the polygonal lasso tool and a soft paint brush to help show the light fading.
For this piece I placed a dog sitting by a barn on a dark rainy night. I started by getting a basic picture of a barn. I then added a simple black and white filter and a dog. To make the dog look wet I added a glossy watercolor filter to make the dog look to have water all on it. I then put a black and white filter on the dog and played with its color balance to make it appear to be a darker colored dog from the rain. After this, I used a downloaded rain brush to add rain to the piece. Finally, I used the same moon brush I used in the other piece to finish the night setting and top of the piece.
