For this assignment, I wanted to illustrate an angel sitting on the moon while using a laptop... To begin, I created a brush of a girl with a laptop in hand and a brush of a crescent moon for her to sit on.
To add the wings, I created another brush and layers it with a mixture of purple and pink. Also, I made another smaller brush of the laptop, and coloring it blue to make it pop out more. Lastly, I layered the moon with a faint blue shade to somewhat match the laptop.
I found a picture of a galaxy background and applied it to my project with light opacity. I did this because I wanted the central object to stand out more than the background. Also, I made the moon and and angel darker to bring them out more as well.
Next, after much thinking, I decided to darken the background a little more so the flow of the picture matches more. I used a different picture of space to do this.
Lastly, I applied filters to the wings and laptop. On the laptop I used a mosaic tile filter to emphasize the technology and I used another filter to brighten the fairy wings to symbolize their magic.
Here is the final product, closer up.
For the second portion of my project I wanted to design an illustration of butterflies climbing the empire state building. To begin, I made 3 brushes, including the building, a butterfly, and a cloudy background. I made the building blue and butterfly orange to show complementary colors.
As a second step to this project, I added another butterfly with a different shade of orange to still show those complementary colors within the buildings and butterflies.
As a final touch, I applied filters to bring out the colors of the butterflies more and make them brighter... Also I added a filter to the building, which lead to them showing more dimension and detail.
This is the final product of the second illustration of this project.
To begin my final product, I wanted to create an image of a castle on an island surrounded by clouds. I made brushes to create the castle, clouds, island, palm trees, and background.
I wanted to create a spookier look with the castle, to I applied a filter to darken it. Also, I uploaded and made a brush of clouds to add into the background to create more dimension and vibrancy in my project.
Final product of my third project, up close.
