"Abstract Potato Bird"
For one of our projects in an undergraduate printmaking course, the objective was to create a print that began as a single sheet of paper. The assignment was to tear that piece of paper into a random shape and to create an image. The torn piece of paper I had created reminded me of a bird. I made additional prints using that bird-shaped pattern. I continued to build layers using the same pattern in different colors and textures to create an “abstract bird”. It was a successful project and I was proud because my “abstract bird” was nominated as one of the options for a t-shirt design for art club.
