I'm a motion / graphic designer and this is my new self branding since 2012.
"Glitch capture the fact that no one can deliberately make a mistake, although mistakes are often the greatest sources of inspiration."
The 'Visual Glitch' is often a product of miscommunication and data corruption that manifests itself through digital devices and can be reproduced on a variety of mediums.Visually, glitch can be very colorful and vibrant.
A "glitch" usually fixes itself in the amount of time it takes for it to be noticed in the first place, whether as a scrambled cable television delay, a page-loading error on an internet browser, a jumble of pixels on an ATM interface, or even an Adobe error created during the act of designing. It's a Perfect Imperfection.
I’ve branded myself based on Glitch visuals. As a designer, I experience glitch in real life. It happens mostly after I read the brief of a new project, while my brain is 90% occupied searching for ideas. When people talk to me about other topics the conversations begin to glitch with ambient noise around me. When I look around I add type to the frame, it's 2D and then 3D, or sometimes black and white forms morph to become a different perspective in my mind. Suddenly, a person may pass in front of my eyes and glitch the whole scene. It happens over and over when I walk, eat, drive… The world around me is in a state of absolute glitch. There is no perfect image to be the final idea. Much like a digital glitch, these aberrations will fix themselves and the separate pieces of information will become a cohesive whole. At the end, I start to blink. The ideas are perfect images, but they’re not quite what I’m looking for. I blink, blink and blink again, until finally it turns to a sharp image. Only then can I see the idea front of me that answers the question in the project brief. It’s that feeling of discovery and creation that makes me the happiest person on the planet, in that exact moment and those moments are the main reason to be a designer in my life.
This project has been feachered on LOGOGRAMA 2015, which is an amazing collection of dynamic branding.
