This is my second time customizing denim with fabric scraps.
This time, I went to a furniture store and asked if they had any fabric samples or trims that were discontinued. They were kind enough to let me go through a bin in their back room with old trims that they could no longer use. They said they would be thrown away if I did not take them.
Again, sustainability is so important to me so I want to continue to use scraps and samples that would be otherwise thrown away. I also was able to receive this pair of jeans from a family friend that no longer wanted them. I love bringing new life into old garments.
This time, I tried experimenting with a free-motion quilting foot on a sewing machine. It will take some getting used to as it is my first time using a sewing machine, but it is excited creating these upcycled projects. I hand sewed around half of the trims on this pair.
