This was my first experiment with customizing denim. I have worked on a couple projects previously where I customized Converse shoes, so I wanted to see what I could come up with on a pair of jeans. 

Sustainability is very important to me and I try to incorporate sustainable living into my life whenever possible. The pair of jeans for this project is an old pair of jeans that I never really wore so I wanted to bring new life into them instead of throwing them away. As for the patches, they are all fabric scraps from my college days. In the design studios, there were bins of scraps that the designers did not or could not use. They were often thrown out, but I wanted to save them to use for future projects. This is my first take on a pair of upcycled custom denim pants.

The patches are all individually hand sewn.
