This project was proposed to Multicap in response to the request to produce a product which improves attendee/model experience at their FashionAble event.
The proposed solution is an event program that features textile swatches from the outfits on display, as well as both written and braille details about the models, designers and outfits to provide a significantly more inclusive experience for visually impaired attendees and the many attendees who appreciate a tactile aspect within the event.
The tactile elements of the program also serve the double purpose of being a stim toy for attendees who may experience sensory overload from the noises and visuals of the event. The pages of the program are removable so models can frame or preserve the pages they feature upon, and attendees can remove pages if certain textures trigger negative responses. Importantly, it can be produced in collaboration with Multicap's MakeAbles program for participants' sense of accomplishment and contribution.
