Nottingham Panthers - Jersey
For their first ever Halloween special jersey, the Nottingham Panthers held a competition to design it. The jersey was to be a special edition release with the names of legendary "scary" players from the Panthers' past on the back, which would only be raffled off throughout October. I was shortlisted and then eventually won the competition with my design.
There were some factors that needed to be taken into account with the design. It had to be able to fit a name bar and number on the back, as well as allow room for sponsor's logos. With this in mind I came up with a design that incorporated a large bat spread across the chest and down the arms of the jersey. I also made use of the collar to create the impression of a head for the bat. This design also worked very nicely for the back of the jersey, as the name bar could easily fit onto the bat with the number underneath. To push the Halloween theme even further, I created a circular gradient of black and gold (the Nottingham Panthers colours) with a glowing, full moon at the centre, complimented by a graveyard at the base of the jersey and more bats flying around the edges. The moon provided the perfect backdrop for the panthers logo on the jersey without subtracting from the design, whilst also allowing the logo to be shown clearly on the jersey.
Fans of the Panthers loved the design and there have been calls to release replicas of the jersey on general sale, rather than just raffle some off, and tickets for the raffle have sold faster than any other jersey raffle that Panthers have held previously.

UPDATE
It was announced after the raffle that due to popular demand, the jerseys would be be worn by the team in the Halloween game during the 2021/22 season. The jerseys also went on general sale during the month leading up to the game.
It was exciting and a very proud moment for me to be able to see my design in the shop and being worn by the players.
