Editorial Design | Northwest Crimson & Gray Magazine

Editorial Design
In my ten years at WSU Vancouver, I have designed more than 20 issues of our campus alumni magazine, Northwest Crimson and Gray. I had never designed a large publication before and grew to really enjoy editorial design. I love the flexibility to creatively troubleshoot a layout based on the content. While I do not claim to be an illustrator, I do have fun drawing maps and painstakingly setting type to make an infographic work. Editorial design has become one of my jams.

I work on a small team of four women: our editor-in-chief, project manager, staff writer and myself. I am the sole creative director, graphic designer and primary photographer for this publication. Here's a collection of some of my favorite stories or layouts over the years.
Outside of design, I am also the primary photographer for the university. The majority of photos in Northwest Crimson and Gray are taken by me. Here's a collection of some of my photos that have been published in the magazine.
