UTM #WeAllEagles Campaign

#WeAllEagles 2018 Campaign
The Objective: #WeAllEagles was a campaign run by the Department of Recreation, Athletics & Wellness at the University of Toronto Mississauga to encourage students to participate in campus sports while pursuing their academic studies. The objective was to encourage and motivate non-athlete students to join a team on campus.

The Deliverables: 22 Posters, 22 Social Media Graphics
The Process: I took initiative on the project and was given the responsibility to conceptualize and create visual assets for this campaign. Student athletes from different programs were featured in the posters to build a connection with students who were hesitant to join a team due to their worry over academic-sport life balance. Records of their information were managed and matched with the appropriate photos. Student photography was edited and retouched in Photoshop and Lightroom before the poster was brought into InDesign for text. I used a variety of colours to create the gradient map of 22 posters but kept the font style consistent with the UTM EAGLES brand. I checked in weekly with my Supervisor and Coordinator to update them on my progress, as well as revise the text and graphics when necessary.
The Challenge & Solution: I took on additional responsibilities to determine the best photograph of each student and to retouch each photograph for the posters when a team member was unable to. I broke each step of the project down into smaller tasks and checked them off as I completed each step. This prevented me from being overwhelmed. As a result, I met the deadline and delivered print-ready files for production on time.
The Result: This campaign was a challenge I am proud to overcome because it was a big responsibility to create and provide the visual assets that would carry it forward. It was the first large-scale campaign I led in a workplace so the expectations I had set for myself were high. It was also the first large-scale project of mine that I saw on display across campus. After its successful delivery and implementation on campus, this project gave me a lot of confidence in my design skills and project management ability. It received praise and attention from students, staff and faculty members that motivated me to continue learning and growing as a designer.
