Jones Senior High School 10-year reunion invitation
I was asked by the organizers of Jones Senior High School's Class of 1995 10-year reunion to concept an invitation package for the event. The end result was born of the soirée's theme, a white linen party. Rather than simply have attendees clad in white, my work in partnership with the organizers graduated the affair—pun intended—to an elegant, vintage-themed event evocative of the heady 1950's nights in Havana nightclubs: sweltering evenings, towering palms, linen suits and fedoras.
The invitation text itself was printed onto a starched white handkerchief, coupled with RSVP cards styled as vintage postcards. These components were wrapped with a hand-cut palm frond, then sealed with a mysterious lover's deep red kiss and scented with a Mojito-like aroma. An antique-feeling natural-colored linen stock completed the package, enveloping the invitation and also serving as the stock the "postcards" were printed on.
