This brief was to design an exhibition catalogue and affiche. The content of the catalogue came from an essay we had written earlier that year. My essay was about IKEA and how they have sucessfully fulfilled some of the fundamental goals of Modernism by creating affordable modernist designs that are available to the masses.

The essay and catalogue centered around two particular IKEA products The DOCKSTA table, an imitation of Eero Saarinen’s Tulip Table and the PELLO armchair; a mimic of Alvar Aalto’s Cantilever Armchair Model NO.31.

The catalogue’s exterior and box is simple and plain to imitate the flatpack nature of all IKEA products. It is intended to be a flat packed piece of Modernism.
