This Adobe After Effects VFX project is based on an Andrew Kramer tutorial. I learn a ton from his work as he’s a master at what he does. As a developer he has a godly understanding of how to implement different tools to achieve a desired look and effect. 

In addition to all of the in house techniques I also used the Video Copilot Free plugin Saber which is insanely versatile and I still can’t believe the amount of free stuff they offer.

There is zero meaning behind this I just needed some text to blast through and thought it would look cool as some type of future terminator dystopia. The beauty of this composition is that I can rotate the laser in any direction and update the text to say whatever I want and the effect will update and adjust to reflect those changes. This started off with just blasting the laser through the number “5”.
