Changing Identities of the City || Mixed-Use Recreation Centre
Reimagining the culture of Colaba, Mumbai
The project aims at giving a new identity to a culturally rich and dynamic part of Mumbai - Colaba. South Mumbai’s Colaba district has a rich and vibrant history and is packed with art galleries, restaurants and Art Deco buildings, yet that is not the only identity it holds today. With the changing times and dynamics of our city today, as architects we need to constantly evolve and adapt.
Juxtaposed between the iconic Leopold Cafe, Gokul, a hospital, a rooftop restaurant and the elite Indigo, the project speaks about the current identity and urban language of Colaba. The programs too are designed to complement the activities happening along the street.
