Markets of Hong Kong

Captures the everyday vibes of markets in the streets of Hong Kong. There is beauty in the strength of these hardworking people and my aim was to present this through this series of documentarist photographs of accidentally found situations that usually features only one main character which makes it portrait-like and more personal as I feel alone with the person – this also a strange, not common scenario in Hong Kong. These pictures have many in common after sorting them; for instance the stage-like setting although, none of the appearing people were adjusted.

The language barrier and the cultural preconceptions made it hard to approach this layer of Hong Kong residents.

This series, which is often implemented with pictures of items and characteristic products. These are frozen moments taken out of context, which makes the audience create a new one.
