Reproduction frame for a client that sent photos of an original frame from the late 1800's. The frame appears simply made at first glance but needs to be hand shaped, joined and carved from scratch.
After shaping and carving the profile the inner reeding is carved by hand to create the outset corner beading.

After the beading is finished the designs are carved into the surface to create a light relief of the design.
Water gilt in 12 kt white gold the frame is then burnished, toned and distressed to create the overall feel of time on the surface.
