The flood has also submerged almost the entire stretch of the Kaziranga National Park, a home to the world's largest population of one-horned rhinos, which faced extinction at the turn of the century.
The flood waters have so far damaged 204 embarkments, 168 bridges, culverts and 1637 roads in the state.
