Llanelly House
Brand, Identity, Experiential
One of Wales’ most famous great estates, Llanelly House Genealogy Heritage Centre was once a beacon for the town with a central role in Welsh history and the industrial revolution.

As a museum based on the concept of national and personal identity, it needed precisely that, a brand that reflected it’s illustrious, uniquely individual past, emphasising its deep set heritage in Welsh culture that encouraged visitors of all ages to go on a journey of exploration and discovery as the fabric of the house came to life to tell not only its own story, but theirs too.

To create a personality within the house we used the structural fittings of the grade 2 listed building as narrative devices. Window frames, key holes and floorboards which had spent centuries soaking in these stories allowed audiences to peer through their physical fabric with a set of interactive exhibits, revealing time capsules to the past and a unique personal voice.

The logo used a traditional Georgian Serif font with modern interventions to highlight the link between present and past, subtle ambient candlelight was used to illuminate forms, adding texture and enhancing the concept of discovery across all collateral.

This reflected the award winning lighting design within the experience that provided pulsed groups of visitors individual candlelight’s to illuminate exhibits and displays on an immersive journey through each room.
